This week’s photo challenge as written above is about “Grand” :
“Grand. We’ve hosted a “Big” photo challenge in the past, but for this week’s challenge, we want you to consider not just the size of something, but also that special element: the “wow factor” of a scene or subject that makes a picture so stunning. That magical quality you’re always out looking for and so excited to capture with your camera.”
I went to our local casinò the other day…well, it was a casinò under the Hapsburg’s reign, but Italy, until recently prohibited gambling. In fact, until before WWI Trentino-Alto Adige was South Tyrol…part of Austria.
Here I saw a fantastic bit of history that made me smile. A huge projector. I took photos of it from different angles and here they are for you:
- Entrance blurred
- Entrance
- Side B&W
- Side Color
- back
- Front
Hope you enjoyed these as much as I did taking them!

Definitely has the wow factor! Thank you for the pingback also. : ))))
you’re inviting a pun of sorts…a bow wow factor…couldn’t resist (she blushes)
Hohoho!!! : ))))
[giggles]
Thanks for the pingback (and the smile 🙂 )
No problem! 🙂
definitely different and yes, looks very large. ☺
lol!
very interesting 🙂
yeah..it attracted my eye the other morning and couldn’t resist. When you think of watching movies on an iPhone and see a big projector like that…what a passage we made!
I remember the old projectors at school and we loved watching movies backwards while they were rewound. Can’t do that on a DVD player or iphone 😉
That’s true. This projector is a real monster…nothing like the ones I knew of old…It was a professional. We still have this museum piece….but not one real movie theatre in the whole valley, last one closed down about two years ago.
That is too bad. Some movies in a theater are better on the big screen or with a crowd.
too true…mis the old movie theaters…
Yes me too. They have them in Shanghai, but super expensive. DVDs for us usually on a computer screen 😦 Not the same.
Same thing here…we have to go out of town to see a movie…and it’s very expensive…so DVD for us too and always on a computer screen…though 2 years ago I did buy a 26″ just for that purpose 🙂
Work bought us a big TV, but the DVD player doesn’t like it, or it isn’t working with the new DVDs… not sure. Such a waste and 2 people gathered around a laptop isn’t the same.
No it isn’t…does the tele have a s-video plug…or an way to connect to the computer…your video card may have a tv out option and some new tv’s have a monitor option…that is you can plug you computer to it and use it to see dvds. Goggle and see how it’s done…and if you have a geeky friend, I’m sure you might be watching Christmad DVD’s over the tele in no time.
Seems it is the old DVDs are ok more the new ones won’t play. That is a good idea to hook up the computer. We will have to look into that. Thanks.
Did it for a very long time…seems a bit complicated in the beginning…that is connecting, but then it’s a whiz!
Awesome thanks again.
