Ese’s Shoot and Quote: Pleasure

Never permit a dichotomy to rule your life, a dichotomy in which you hate what you do so you can have pleasure in your spare time. Look for a situation in which your work will give you as much happiness as your spare time.

Pablo Picasso

life is short
I create each day
photographs
poetry
work and play combined as one
living life to the full

Picasso
spoke wisdom one day
pleasure just
for one hour
is too little to call life
living is much more…

Ese’s Weekly Shoot and Quote Challenge: Inspiration

For this week’s Shoot and quote I’m looking for inspriation:

Inspriation…when the muse takes you by the hands and starts writing your story or your poem or even takes that special photograph.  Inspiration is something very special and very particular.

Sometimes the fall kills you. And sometimes, when you fall, you fly.”
― Neil Gaiman

“Sometimes you wake-up.

Sometimes the fall kills you.

And sometimes, when you fall,

you fly.”
― Neil Gaiman

Shoot and Quote: FRAGILE

A book is a fragile creature, it suffers the wear of time, it fears rodents, the elements and clumsy hands. so the librarian protects the books not only against mankind but also against nature and devotes his life to this war with the forces of oblivion.

Umberto Eco

These are two books that we’re reading at present.  The table is where we keep the library books we’ve checked out and the dictionary and other reference books we use sometimes.

Can you imagine what I would do if I could do all I can?
Sun Tzu

I liked this quote by Sun Tzu very much…but I love this second quote just as much and for different reasons:

I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, it’s a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope. Which is what I do, and that enables you to laugh at life’s realities.
