Weekly Photo Challenge – Fleeting
Flag throwing is a suggestive art. Flag bearers, marching to the beat of drums, through town along with their corporation or city bearing their colors and eventually twirling and throwing them into the air.
As the drums beat
the flag throwers
twirl their colors
then launch them
into the air
and for
a fleeting moment
they flutter
then return
to their masters.
Have a great week!
Where was this? I had witnessed something similar when we visited Siena, Italy, last year. http://likeitiz.wordpress.com/2012/10/17/weekly-writing-challenge-a-splash-of-color/
This was in Padova for The Chronicles of Carraresi medieval week. I’ll be writing about it on Sunday.
I will look out for your post!
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did when I was there!
Great images, lovely words! You really captured the scene.
Thanks…I don’t have Monty to help he would have loved it!
: )))))
Thanks for the pingback! Loving your photos! Those flag throwers are very deft…

To see them in the live was a great experience! You’re always welcome, though I haven’t been by yet, you usually have a lovely post and I’m sure this will be the case too!
They must have been amazing to watch.
