Weekly Photo Challenge: Let There Be Light! (5)

For this weeks DP Photo Challenge: IN A NEW POST CREATED FOR THIS CHALLENGE, SHARE A PHOTO THAT FEATURES A LIGHT SOURCE.

Now for a few photos of the sun on lake Garda as promised yesterday.  I’ll remind you that for me the source of light is…the sun!  I took these photos on a very bright sunny day not long ago.  I also took three using my sunglasses to cut the glare.  The black and white photo is the same as the last photo…but I made it black and white, because I thought it’d be interesting.

But before I close this post…here is a lovely photo of Monte Velo (Veiled Mount)…the sun is setting and the light reflects  off the snow.  I didn’t do much with this app wise, just shadowed the buildings a little 😉

Weekly Photo Challenge: Let There Be Light! (4)

Ok, up ’til now, I’ve been showing you artificial light sources.  I have to admit, that they don’t really excite me very much.  It’s cool to take a photo of a Christmas tree from weird angles, but when I think of the source of light, living between two mountains makes me think of the sun.

In this period of the year, we don’t get full sun until about 10:30 – 11:00.  On the 21st, it’ll be closer to 12:00.  But then…it starts tipping the mountain earlier and earlier.  To me, the greatest moment of the year is when I see the sun growing stronger and topping the mountain earlier.

Here are a few photos that I just prepared for this occasion called, Let There Be Light!

And then it happens…the sun tops the mountain, I used my sunglasses to cut down a little of the glare…

Weekly Photo Challenge: Let There Be Light! (3)

I was fascinated the other morning by a series of globes of light placed in some plants along a sidewalk cafè:

I thought I’d do a little warming up of the picture:

That did something special to the globe of light in my opinon…I really like how the red of the vase comes out and contrasts with the green leaves…the whole composition becomes warmer.

Thanks for looking on…and I’ll see if I can come up with something more “seasonal” for tomorrow!

Ciao!
