Everywhere in Italy at this time of the year there are a series of festivals and open markets where one can go and have a good time.
Last week, here in Arco, we even had a Vegan Fest with street art and music. The music was fine and everyone had a pretty good time.
Just one off note – I do have to admit at the time I did get a little irritated when a young woman gave a speech at the dining tent saying people who ate meat were cannibals and I don’t sympathize with people who try to make their dogs and cats vegans either, basically because I believe to each his own…
This is for Tourist in Your Own Town for Canadian Travelbugs!
Spring is in the air and I’ve been out walking again at last. Yesterday I went all the way up to the Arco’s Castle and so I thought: “Wow…these are just the shots I need to show you all my skyline!
So my friends…this is the village of Bolognano where I live…you’ve seen it up close but you can only get a really complete view of the village from up here.
I’m posting this for Canadian Travel Bugs’ Skyline: Tourist in Our Own Town…drop by her Blog and pick up the details of this fantastic month long prompt…I’ll be participating again soon!
For Canadian Travelbugs’ Montly Tourist in my town, I thought I’d show you a few more Christmas scenes from my town!
This is Riva del Garda, Trentino, Italy on the night between the 21st and 22nd of December. I just love to try and shoot photos at night. My camera doesn’t really do a great job of it though unless I use a tripod…but we were out celebrating and so no tripod was on hand. A couple of the photos I took with my Nokia phone…my Oympus ran our of energy…

Season’s greetings from my town! Ciao, Bastet!
A while back, on November 5th in fact, Canadian Travel Bugs came up with a great prompt for her Tourist in my Town in fact this month she’s looking for statues! “If anyone wants to join visit the above link to the orginal post and in the comment section put a link to your post so we can find lots of cool sculpture in just a click away.
Stay tuned the first weekend of each month there will be a new theme.”
Well my village doesn’t really have a lot of statues, so I showed showed her some from Riva del Garda, Arco and Rovereto. But Bolognano does have one statue…it’s weird and is the property of our local credit union bank…so I took some pictures walking all around it! I’m afraid I don’t really know what it represents, as it doesn’t have a plaque or anything, however it was interesting to photograph from all sides.
Have a great evening…I’ll see you tomorrow! Ciao!
Canadian Travel Bugs has come up with a cool prompt…Tourist in my Town! This month she’s looking for statues…and living in Italy, well, statues are everywhere, but not as lovely as in Shanghai..or is it just because I’m used to seeing the Italian variety…you tell me. For more info on her prompt…follow the link and why not, be a tourist in your own town too!
These statues are found in Arco:
The next two were taken in Riva del Garda:
This strange little statue can be found in Rovereto:
I hope you’ve found these interesting…I’ve found that I really should go out and take a few more pictures of some of the other statures and scuptures that can be found around my town…I’ve seriously been neglecting them!
Ciao from Italy! Bastet
