30 Days of Haiga – September 21, 2014

Some friends brought us some green apples from their orchard … the first apples of the year!  So, I thought I’d take some photos … here is today’s 30 DOH for 19 planets art blog:

What is a gambeson?  A gambeson is a quilted “shirt” that was used by knights in shining armor under their mail shirts to protect them from abrasion or being badly bruised by the tiny metal rings of that particular heavy garment. For more information follow the link 😉

30 days of Haiga – September 18, 2014

This morning I was writing a post for Carpe Diem Haiku Kai‘s river prompt and was inspired to write a couple of haiga too … it’s a very inspirational post by the way and I’d highly recommend it!  So for today’s 30DOH … River Sarca … the river near my house, oh … here’s the link to my Blogger Post about the river.

30 Days of Haiga – Wilted Roses – September 15, 2014

Today for 30DOH, I thought I’d show you how I came up with the haiga I decided to post for 19 Planets Art Blog.

Yesterday afternoon I decided to play with PicMonkey for a change … but this after I had elaborated a photo – this is the original:

Nothing very special … so I worked on it a while with Picasa sharpening it up with the HDR app and rendered it into a black and white photo:

Interesting, but it didn’t inspire a haiku … so I tried using Photoshop … but couldn’t get it to do anything I wanted to save .. then, I remember PicMonkey … and came up with my haiga for the day:
