30 Days of Haiga – Wilted Roses – September 15, 2014

Today for 30DOH, I thought I’d show you how I came up with the haiga I decided to post for 19 Planets Art Blog.

Yesterday afternoon I decided to play with PicMonkey for a change … but this after I had elaborated a photo – this is the original:

Nothing very special … so I worked on it a while with Picasa sharpening it up with the HDR app and rendered it into a black and white photo:

Interesting, but it didn’t inspire a haiku … so I tried using Photoshop … but couldn’t get it to do anything I wanted to save .. then, I remember PicMonkey … and came up with my haiga for the day:

  1. Oh how gorgeous!!! I am so glad PicMonkey worked for you — and relieve to see someone else bouncing back and forth between apps! Your end result is just brilliant 🙂

  3. I really like your haiku and your description of how working with digital imaging led you to the haiku is really fascinating. You’ve inspired me. 🙂

      • It’s true. Looking at your post gave me the inspiration to make my early spring post – I had already made the image but hadn’t written the haiku to go with it. Reading how you used the images themselves as inspiration for the haiku really put me on track to do something similar. Thanks
