Am soooo envious! What a beautiful collection of books! I plan to build a HUGE library when my hubby and I finally get around to building our own house….
I’m sure you too will have a lovely collection some day…some of my books are really very old..but, well, I and my husband aren’t spring chickens 😉
I have begun collecting some of my favourites in hardback/ leatherbound copies since past few years…so here’s hoping for the best!
And BTW your blog so spiritedly! You are young at heart…after all age is just a number 😉
I must agree with your last statement! Thanks! 😉

A great post. Books are my friends. I am now building my collection on the phone to save space. 😀
Well, I have my e-book collection, but I do so love having the physical items on hand 🙂 Thanks for dropping by!
I love books, too.
Regards magdalena
One can never have to many books – and I love your idea for keeping the iPad upright! Thanks for the ping back.
My pleasure…that’s my Trekstore e-book, a Christmas gife, alas, I don’t have an ipad…it’s a comfortable way to keep my book upright whilst reading in my easy chair…I put on my knees…I do something similar with my paper books too. 😉
Reblogged this on Bastet and Sekhmet's Library and commented:
Through the Eye of Bastet…This week’s photo challenge is show our treasure…
A great idea! A good book is always a great treasure. Each trip back here my suitcase is often full of them 😉 I have gone over to some books on the ipad just to save space and weight, but there is nothing like a good book. 🙂
I do so love my books. The e-books are ok I’ve got a lot of them on my computer and trekstor, but there’s something so much more gratifying in a paper book! Of course travelling is another thing. When I travel I don’t usually carry my books with me either…
When we came here I packed my favourite children’s books too… lots of weight, but I wanted to share my favourites with my students. It has been great. They love them as much as I. I got the idea (from a teacher I had in my training) to colour copy each book we read to keep track. The kids love the display. The most we read together was almost 90! That was mostly picture books, but a few chapter books too. Everyday to fit it in we read at snack time. It produced a real love for books that I was happy to pass on. 🙂
As a tot, I loved my picture books and just naturally passed on to chapter books. That was a great idea you had and I think it was wrth your weighty sacrifce!
Reading is so important. The research says kids should be read to 5 times a day. Not sure to what age, but lower primary for sure. I try to fit it in whenever I can.

Books are my treasures too – and I have passed that love onto my children. Our home is filled with them 🙂
I guess I kind of realized that many would be in my same boat with regards to books…at least here in blogosphere! My sons too have a passion for books! 🙂
