Photografic Trilogy: The Desert Water Lily Pond

A Black and White World

Black and White

In a black and white world
only outlined in shades of grey
no one answers with curious words
but go on about their day.

In a black and white world
all the questions have been answered
no need getting into a whirl…
ideas are considered a perilous cancer.

In a black and white world
the boat of our glorious dreams
sinks in the swamp and in rules becomes gnarled
we vaguely long for forgotten sun-beams.

In a black and white world
even the smallest touch of color stands out
causing ideas to suddenly unfurl
blooming like a cactus after the drought.

In our black and white world
ideals and visions of long-lost prophets
guide us to the death of our imagination
leaving a hint of bitter moldering sand.

Waterlogged

Waterlogged

Lonely

near death

waterlogged

among the lily pads

you look so forlorned

waterlogged

tears fall

slowly.

Lost

LostA desert of lily pads

choke the tiny pond

lost is your purpose

your very life

and further on

you travel

into quiet decay

as the water lilies

invade your soul

do you

travel on towards

your silent rest?

Or like a ghost do you now

row

the lost towards their final goal?
